Why I Prioritize Sleep: The Best Self-Care Habit I Adopted

For years, I treated sleep like an option, not a necessity. Late-night scrolling, binge-watching shows, and working past midnight became my routine. I told myself, “I’ll catch up on sleep later,” but that never happened. Eventually, exhaustion caught up with me I started having constant fatigue, mood swings, and brain fog became my new normal.

One night, after feeling completely drained, I decided to change. I started by setting a bedtime and sticking to it. I also created a wind-down routine such as dim lights, no screens, and a cup of herbal tea. At first, it was hard, but within a week, I felt a difference.

Better sleep improved my mood, focus, and even my skin. I woke up energized instead of dragging myself through the day. I also realized that self-care isn’t just about fancy spa days it’s also about meeting your basic needs, and sleep is one of the most important.

If you’ve been neglecting rest, start small. Try sleeping 30 minutes earlier, avoid screens before bed, and create a relaxing night routine. Your body and mind will thank you.

  1. Well, for me I sold my sleeping hours for the bag. I will put everything back to normal after I have achieved most of my Goals. Thanks

  2. Setting sleeping hours Is a bit hard, sometimes you don't meet up with the things you are doing, it now clashes with the right time to go to bed
